The first step in achieving “Really Clean Carpets” is to dry vacuum, including corners and edges, to remove as much of the dry soil as possible. Believe it or not more than 80% of the soil in your carpet can be removed with a thorough dry vacuuming!
- Furniture too large to be removed from the room will be placed in the center so the perimeter can be cleaned first. Then replaced with foam blocks or plastic tabs under the legs or base to protect the furniture from any remaining moisture.
- The high-traffic areas are then treated with the appropriate pre-conditioner, usually citrus based. (Degree of soiling and fiber type will determine which pre-conditioner is appropriate).
If necessary, a rotary machine and specially designed carpet brush will work the pre-conditioner in to loosen embedded soils and suspend them so they can be easily extracted from the carpet.
TOP Step 2: Soft water cleans and rinses more thoroughly!
- Next a thorough flushing of the fibers, with the appropriate rinsing agent and hot water (just under 200 degrees F) sanitizes your carpet. Our “Culligan” Water Softening and Filtration System assures you that the water used to clean your carpets is ideal for achieving “Really Clean Carpets”! At the same time a very powerful, truck mounted, vacuum extracts the pre-conditioner, soils and water completing the cleaning process.
If any spots remain I will use a specially formulated spotter, specifically made to remove that spot, followed by a rinse. Your valuable carpets will be left looking refreshed, with a fresh, clean scent, pile lifted and free of the soils that matted it down!
Removing these soils and any residues, left by household spotting products and less experienced carpet cleaners, greatly enhances your carpet’s appearance while protecting it from premature wear!
Note: I bring my own hot water and take all wastewater away!
TOP Step 3: Really fast drying time!
Although most of the hot water used to clean your carpets is removed, during the rinsing and extraction process, I offer additional steps to remove even more moisture.
- A rotary machine placed on top of a thick, cotton, bonnet pad is spun across the surface of the carpet to absorb much of the remaining moisture, greatly reducing the dry time.
- As each room in your home is cleaned I’ll place a high-speed air mover (fan) in the doorway to enhance this quick drying process! Carpets can be dry in as little as 2 hours!
TOP Step 4: Protect your investment!
- If you choose to give your valuable carpets the added stain and soil resistance of fabric protector it will be applied and groomed into the fibers for maximum coverage and effectiveness.
Because fabric protector resists dirt particles from becoming lodged in your carpet’s fibers you will actually be able to remove more dirt each time you vacuum! This is key to keeping your carpets cleaner longer and protecting the fibers from premature wear!
- If you choose not to protect your carpets I will still groom the carpet to lift the fibers and give it a uniform appearance.
Grooming also enhances the drying process by allowing air to circulate around each fiber. (Some styles of carpet cannot be groomed.)
